God Doesn’t Work in Mysterious Ways

Many in Christian culture today use the phrase “God works in mysterious ways” when they don’t understand a situation, or think maybe God is behind it. The Apostle Paul exhorts us in Ephesians 5:17 to “Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.” If we don’t know how God operates today, what He is doing, and how He is doing it, then we don’t understand His will. Fortunately for us, we have God’s Word which informs us that God’s dealings with the Body of Christ today under grace are not mysterious. One aspect of the ministry we’ve all been given today in the body of Christ is to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery (Eph 3:9), yet most people don’t even know what that is (Eph 3:1-6). Whether it be from the blinders of church tradition, a lack of scriptural study, or some other reason, we’ve all been there before and the good news is that we don’t have to stay there.
