Blessings By Faith in Christ

In Christ, we are blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places (Eph 1:3). In Galatians 3:26-29, Paul beautifully expresses some of those many blessings that believers receive by faith in Christ Jesus.

“For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” – Galatians 3:26

This statement makes it clear that our identity as children of God is not earned through the law or any works but is established solely through faith in Jesus Christ. Those who trust in Christ and His sacrifice for sins are made God’s children, adopted into His family, and set apart from the “children of disobedience” who remain outside of this grace (Gal 3:7, Rom 8:14-16, Eph 2:1-9, Col 3:6-7).

“For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” – Galatians 3:27

The phrase “baptized into Christ” refers to the baptism by the Spirit that occurs when a believer puts their faith in the gospel. We are identified with Christ in His death and resurrection through faith (Rom 6:3-6, Col 2:11-14). This spiritual union means that the old sinful identity is put to death, and the believer is clothed in the righteousness of Christ, made a new creature in Christ (2Co 5:17, Eph 4:22-24, Col 3:9-10).

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” – Galatians 3:28

In Christ, all social, cultural, and gender distinctions lose their spiritual significance: we are united as one body. Whether Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male or female, all believers share equal standing before God and are united in Him (Col 3:11). This unity transcends any earthly differences because we are all made new in Christ and have no confidence in the flesh (Php 3:3).

“And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.” – Galatians 3:29

Believers in Christ are considered the spiritual descendants of Abraham, being blessed and inheriting the promise of the Spirit. These blessings are not tied to adherence to the law but come through faith alone in Jesus. As heirs, we inherit righteousness, eternal life, and every spiritual blessing that comes from being a child of God (Gal 3:7-9, 4:7, Titus 3:3-7, Eph 1:11,14, Rom 4:17-25).

In Christ, our identity, blessings, and eternal security are solidified by faith, not by works or the law, and we can rest in these glorious truths because of what Christ has already done for us.
